"I always wanted to get married with just candles! I think candlelight is the most beautiful light there is and there's something very spiritual about it..."
-Nicole Kidman
Color and candle light go a long way...
At Valley Green there are definitely fewer winter weddings than summer, but after the one we had here on Dec 30, 2011, I wish there were more. I honestly don't think the space has looked warmer, as elegant and well thought out as it did for Hannah and Mitch's wedding (great job to Hannah's mom, Heidi!)
The color theme was silver, white and purple...and though I was nervous at how it might come together to look like my senior prom, the colors worked and made the tented area feel cozey and warm on a cold night. Accents were on each table, flowers from the church were brought in to accent the inside of the doors with monogrammed lanterns that gave a great personal touch.
I loved these little flower balls that one of Hannah's friends made! When the girls came in they had them in a bag with no ideas on where to put them but we hung them from the sconces in the bar!
Hannah and Mitch also had a wishing tree set up on their gift table along with some family photos and their guest book. The little LOVE stamped tags were hung with advice from each guest on a little tree that they planned to take and plant at their new home.
With a December 30th wedding, they had to make a little nod to holiday decor and found a simple, elegant way to do so by hanging silver ball garlands along the inside of each door to accent the space between the bar and the patio.

I loved that we had the sweet heart table placed right in front of the bar doors--the couple could sit and relax and their guests could stop to chat on their way to get a drink!
Mitch is an officer in the Army, so when it came time to cut the cake, he had his say in the choice of knife...or sword!

And what a great job by photographer, Matthew Hall!!! I can't express how much I LOVE these pics...great way to wrap up 2011. I know it's a little late, but congratulations, Hannah and Mitch!! Thanks so much for Matthew Hall Photography and Heidi Meiers for the photos!
